Not Aluminum, Forged Steel vs. Cast Steel. Forged is harder and purer than the Cast.

Although I don't know anyone who's broke a Cast crank general rule of thumb is they are good to about 600rw.

It would be bolting up to a 6 bolt forged cobra crank. Hmmm

Exact same crank as the 8-bolt. Just now offered as a 6 bolt as well.

Tough decision. Aluminum is lighter and allows for a lighter rotating mass..hence quicker engine acceleration. The iron is obviously heavier but more durable and carries more inertia for launching a heavy street car.

What do you guys think about a used shortblock with 10k miles....its a 97 teksid block with manley i beam rods and probe pistons. Cobra crank...

Depends on the specs of it. Teksid blocks i thought were only made in 96 but i could be wrong or have the year wrong. But it really all depends on what you wanna run the car as. If youre gonna go blower and this block is high compression, i wouldnt get it. And this shortblock must be pretty stout to be running I beam rods instead of H beam rods.
