Default need a lil help

Ok as yall may Know from my parts list thread i just bought a set of BBK Chrome Shorty headers (got a good deal on them). But I was wondering is there anything i can put on them to like protect them or prolong the life of them or even maybe keep them a lil cooler (i.e. like keep the temps down so it wont be so hot under the hood) Just need a lil help on this guys, much appreciated.

u can buy heat tape and wrap them in it to keep the heat inside the pipes and allow it to flow out ur exhaust instead of hanging around ur engine bay,

i don't know about life and if it will help at all but it will keep ur engine/engine bay cooler

from what i understand they are not a good idea at all. For a race car...yes, for a street car...no. They can get moisture in them and basically destroy the headers. It's not worth it IMO, and you will be fine as far as temps. If you are that worried about it you should have not bothered, no offense (just saying, because typically shorties really don't do anything)

Yea, dont wrap the headers...

Aint much you can really do to them, unless you take em somewhere and get them ceramic coated.. Doesnt BBK sell ceramic coated ones?
