Now i'm sorta stuck between that or the Comp 274's. OP why would you say the 274's are 1st in your N/A DD if the hi-tech instead has no lose in low end torque?

Anything good inbetween those 2 cams? how about 270's?

UM, op, you know that crower has 6 stages compared to the standard III that everyone else has right?

Their Stage 4's are like .55" of lift, and a ton of durration. if you want a big cam on the stock shortblock, that's the one to get.

Did you just go to random forums and ask people? Did you check out EVERYONES cams? You missed Crane, Crower, and quite a few others as well.

OH, and the 270XE is more aggressive than the 274's and 278's last time I checked.

The reason i put the comp 274 was because the had a tad bit higher dyno numbers compared to the hitech stage 2. And they are more agressive than the XE270's. Im sure there are cams in between, maybe look at crower, crane, custom grind, etc.

I didnt know crower has 6 stages. This was a comparison between my top 3. CMS, Hitech, and Comp. I looked at the duration specs, dyno gains, listened to how they sounded, etc. and compared them based on what i found. Stage 4 crower duration is 228/232 Duration @ .050.

And no the XE270 is not more agressive than the XE274, and no where close to the XE278.

With the XE274 there are no PTV issues if you degree them properly. So no need for flycut pistons. This is according to people i have talked to who have the cams who have stock pistons, with no changes done to them.

It will just have your basic bolt ons such as exhaust, tb plenum, intake, etc. What do you guys think about them? Will I regret doing stage 1's in the future? Reason for 1's is that I wont have to change springs, etc. I like the way Comps sound much better than the idle of CMS.
Stage 1 is a joke. IMO there is no reason why you shouldnt go stage 2. The only reason why people upgrade their valve springs is so that they can get the full effect of their stage 2, 3, etc, cams by spinning above 6500 rpm. Hitech advertise that the stage 2 do not need upgraded springs.

I don't get why people have no interest in low end power. Everyone seems to want to ditch a fat power band for a high peak number. I just don't get that, especially on a car that is primarily DD or at least street driven.

are you comparing the stage 3 cms n/a cams for f/i? because with blower cams you wouldnt need to flycut your pistons. i seen on mmr stage 3 turbo cams u would have to flycut your pistons, but never on a blower cam

HEY GTRACERRRRRRRRRRRRRR88, you are lil Putang JK. Good pick on the cams I would love to run you when you get your XE274AH installed over my XE278AH and see what happens.

If you want me and my dad to install them we would be more then willing to help out, just bring it out to the shop in Rosenberg.

O and to 2000AZ5.0GT the XE270 a far less aggressive cam compared to the XE274 and XE278. I had the XE270 in and just changed them over to the XE278 better lope and cleaner sounding.

Well now there are stage 2 cams that can keep the same drivablity as stage 1 cams but have higher peak numbers better power through out the powerband and have better track times. Sebastian check your pm.
