Cams vs. Paint
[QUOTE=mvr;6031358]why??[QUOTE]
The Hitechs are a great cam for stock heads. They favor the intake side heavily. The CMS Stage II's favor the exhaust and work equally well with stock heads. But when the heads are worked on the intake side the CMS II's would be better suited IMO. I don't plan on running stock heads forever. A search of the fastest 2-valve cars will show that most are running CMS II's.

i say paint. if youre car is in that much need a paint then do it. cuz if you do the cams you'll be happy you have em but you're still going to hate youre paint. if you do youre paint youll be really happy with the way youre car looks and wish you had the cams, but youll be so happy with the paint that youll be able to get over the cams. what im trying to say is im sure your paint being eff'd up is going to bother you way more than not having cams, you gotta fix stuff before you start adding stuff, just my opinion though
if you do all the prep work you can get a decent paint job for 2500 or how ever much your getting. but if your paint is fine i'd say just go for more power. some nice heads and cam combo would be sick.

I agree, i think a big selling point of the Hitechs is that they don't require valvesprings (stg 2s) but can rev a little higher with em, if you're getting springs anyway go CMS stg 2s.
