I guess my question is do you loose any power by dot degreeing the cams? I just put them in and went. Any thoughts?

That depends if/how much they are out. They might be right on the money, but they could be a few degrees off bank to bank,etc. The problem is you don't know if they aren't degreed in. Just lineing up the timing marks may not mean they are perfect because the stock marks can be off a few degrees because of the "slop" or "Play" in the components.
