My car sits for 6 months at time. I put stabil (spelling) in the tank and changed the oil when I got back.

Are you asking this because your car has been sitting up for a while or do you plan on storing it? Either way, if you plan on storing it, just make sure there's not a full tank of gas in it when you do.

Put some Stabil in there, like previously stated. For shorter periods if you just store it, then fill it up with new fuel it will work fine. Fuel never really goes bad, but the additives and preservatives do.

Put some type of fuel stabilizer in the tank and call it a day. Theres nothing else you can do now but drain the tank. Just change the oil when you get it back out on the road.
