I think you should check your local laws first. It sucks paying all that money just to turn around and either get a fix it ticket or an obstruction of view and/or control ticket. the latter of the 2 is a $100 fine and 3 points. I got 2 of those in one shot in my '85. 1 for the tint and 2 for teh air freshener on my rearview. Oh yeah 6 points for not really doing anything worng.
As far as tint is concerned, personally I'd go with 15/20% on the back and 1/4's and 35% on the side 2. Thats what I had on mine. Mind you at night I'd have to stick my head out the window in order to see what was behind me.

check local laws...then go just a little darker. I had 15 all around on my ranger for 4 years. never any issues, an i was pulled over 4 times in that truck for very bad reasons lol. but tint was never mentioned. I have 20 all around in my stang now, its nice, easy to see out of, and dark enough for privacy. But of course it go 5 all around if i could lol.

Well i live in NJ... we are allowed NO TINT on the driver/passenger windows... But nobody obides by that law here
MVR, that picture is of your car IN the sun? 20% looks a little light if thats in the sun, but it's prob perfect at night.
What do people normally do for the front windshield strip? I want to get a strip across the top but i dont know what to tell the guy.
Do people usually curve the tint? Straight across? 3 inches? 4 inches? Anybody know? =/

Mine goes to the bottom of my rear view mirror mount. And you cant choose curved or straight, it just sits how it does.

when doing the sun strip across the windshield, you should go no lower than the AS-1 line.
when I did my truck, I measured where it was, marked it on the other side. then laid the tint on the outside, smoothed the bubbles out and cut it to fit. then peeled the backing off and proceeded to install it like normal tint. I just made sure it aligned with the norma AS-1 line, and the line I made, from the inside!
And you should consider doing your tint yourself... doing my truck cost me $36
and that was all pre-cut pieces

I dont think i can do the tint myself. I did my tail lights, but things like this i would rather just pay $100 for it to know its done right with a lifetime warranty ya know.
$36 is cheap for pre-cut pieces!!! thats a deal! how did it turn out? pro or no? i would need it to go up to the very end of each window like a pro. anything less and i would be upset
