Just do that and see if you can get back into the GT and still be happy with it.

EDIT: it sounds awful telling people not to get a GT, but really, if your into going fast on any playing field the GT is not that great of a starting ground.
I know exactly what you're talking about. Right now i am still in college and I just want something with a little more pop. After college i would love to get a termi or a Ws6, but right now i'm not looking for anything with a lot of power. I know it would be foolish to get a GT if i wanted a lot of power but for now i just want something with a little more power. Plus i can pay off a GT almost right away, an 01 cobra/ls1/etc. would take longer than i would like.

Plus, i can't really find any good cobras or ls1's around here

Nah, gotta disagree with you on that one. You can make a GT (New Edge ) fast but it does take a little money and a little time. I bought my car bone stock in 07 and with a little time and patience I think she runs real strong especially being N/A. I must admit I want more and will be going with a S/C next year. But as my car stands now this is my kill list: Charger SRT-8, 350Z, Subaru WRX, and just today a modded Cobalt SS.

I guess i didn't mean it like GT's have no power or anything. I'll take back the foolish part and just say i would like an engine that had a lot of potential. Ya know? I was really impressed though with the GT. Anyway ya look at it, you're always gonna want more

How much are you paying right now? If you tack on a couple bucks bucks per month that should put you in the ballpark assuming the GT is the same year as the v6.

When I priced out my v6 it was 6 dollars more per month to cover an 03 cobra.

also my insurance actually went down when I went to my GT, but its because it was a '99 and my v6 was an '03

Well mine right now is an 01, the one i'm looking at is an 02. I assume it'll go up a few but i'll be able to handle that.

I guess what i'm contemplating right now is, if i want to mod this N/A, will it put out 350 rwhp?

LOL no, you would have to spend a ridiculously large amount of time and money to hit 350rwhp N/A and the car would likely be completely unstreetable.

A bolt-on PI GT shouldn't get over 260 rwhp on an accurate dyno. They put down around 220-225 stock.

With the basic bolt ons and simple things, what would be the rwhp/tq?

Just finance a terminator, thats what I did last year when I was 20. Since turning 21 last sunday my insurance actually went down. Just remember when you get the car gears/tune should be your first mods.
