An 03/04 Cobra with a pulley swap and some sticky tires. Good luck!

And I stand corrected on the weight. +50 You are correct JJ03MustangGT. I am amazed at how close they are. My chevy buddies have even always agreed with me that they were heavier. I never thought I needed to look it up.

And sorry to hear about the Mustang loss. I feel your pain on repo and payment. That is why I have another mustang now. I own it 100% and no payment, and this one is convertible. My credit is shot for 4 more years though. I kept blowing engines and didn't know about cars then like I do now so replacing the motor was like 8,000 at the time. Only wish I had stripped my aftermarket parts off first so I wouldnt have had to buy them again now.

u aint lying! 2vs are very expensive. for example, cams for a 2v are what 1k? or so, install is another 1k? and tune is 350 or so thats what, $2350 for what 15-20hp? for my ls1 the cam kit was 599, the tune was 350 and the instal was 250 and i picked up 83 rwhp. 4vs dont even perform that well, unless they are s/c

cams for a 2v is about 600 bucks, install is free if you know how to do it and about 200-300 if you pay a mechanic, tune may be about that.

as far as 4vs not performing well unless its S/Cd? id much rather have a stock 4v then my PI swapped full bolt on 2v

yea in all seriousnes...the gm bird and maro are like sitting on lawn chairs witha cadillac inspired hood and nose...its very long and heavy...and as i just learned not much heavier than a stang but sure does feel it...i think that their f bodies handle better than the gts..idk bout my cobra tho, she handles pretty nice with the 255's on the front...but goodluck with the race...if its ont he street walk it out the hole and then mash it..pray that he doesnt have the driver mod..but id do L/Ts, Cams, mid pipe, catback, TB and PLenum...or if you have the bank roll, skip all that and get a vortech and a tune...ull kick em...get a set of 3:73s while your at it and some Nittos

I've had a couple of camaros and a couple of mustangs, and maybe I am crazy, but I will take a mustang (not a stock tho, at least not for long) anyday. So this thread doesn't bother me. Just keep building and you wont be the one seeing tail lights.

So long as it puts a grin on your face... Who cares in the end. In my opinion my ford sounds better than most any chevy. Ford motors just have that tone a chevy can't match.

In all fairness the camaros put smiles on my face too, but a mustang... Well for me, its love vs like. My heart is with ford power.

i think i should have said that better. what i meant was n/a 4vs are much better than 2vs yes, but they still are expensive to mod while not really staying on par with the lsx motors. BUT 4vs that are s/c make excellent power and are still fun to drive even if they are stock.

yes the cams are 600 or so, but springs and retainers are still 300 bucks. most people arent gonna install the cams themselves, and 2-300 for cam install? cheapest i could ever find was like 600 bucks but i really didnt trust that shop to begin with.

dont get me wrong, i luv mustangs. thus the reason why im on this site, and have owned 2. they are very fun to drive, sound great, look great, and have a feel that no other car can, but if given the chance i wouldnt trade my fbody back for my GT. i like the interior a lot better than my mustangs'. but this thread isnt about, which one looks better or drives better. its about what it takes to beat an h/c/i ls1 with a 2v. and trust me, with the average mustang driver, its gonna take a lot more than bolt ons and sticky tires. your gonna need a pissload of spray or a big s/c with a lot of boost. shoot, 500rwhp h/c/i ls1's are showing up a lot more lately.
