Default About to buy a car help!

Hey everyone, I am about to purchase a vehicle and I am unsure what to do. Im 19 yrs old, almost done with Lincoln Tech, and im working in the field. I wanted to buy an ls1 whether it was a camaro or Ta but the closest thing ive found to affordable is a 99 ta with 6spd and 99k on the clock. 7800 for it. Its in good condition but at a small dealer 3 hrs. But ive found a 02 gt (immaculate) 5spd 61k miles and they only want 8880 for it. What should I do.

And im asking you guys because a ls1 owner would NEVER reccomend a mustang.

The mustang has the LS1 beat hands down in looks...the motor on the other hand is not a fair match. Depends on what you are looking for. If you get the stang its got 30K less on the clock.

Well I have both a 98 ls1 formula(112k on the clock) and a 2007 mustang (wifes car) and my bro has a 2002 mustang gt. My brothers gt has headers, intake, full exhaust, and a dyno tune, and when my car was stock i would pull 1.5 cars on him just to 80mph (the faster we go it would get worse so we shut down) and get 30mpg on high way trips. However my brothers car is nice. LS1 are easy to get power out of. It really depends on what you like better.

get the ls1.... i got a buddy with a 600+rwhp t/a that still gets 30mpg on the highway

plus its faster

cam/exhaust/tune = the same hp as a bolt on blown gt *with a stock shortblock*

plus, theyre sexy...not as much as a stang, but you gotta make a sacrifice somewhere!

Get the LS1 they are faster and if you car going Lincoln Tech to be an automotive technician why would you worry about mileage b/c if it breaks you should be able to fix it but I understand i hate working on my stuff but i will if io have to on todays cars 100,000 miles isnt anything to worry about, if you take care of it it should last another 100k miles

I don't know man. I think I would go with the mustang.. Yeah the LS1's faster but you could make the mustang a project like me and a couple more guys on this site. If you put a little money in the stang it'll get you where you wanna be. I had a 93 Z but I prefer the ride and the look of my 03 stang.. Sometimes it's not all about who's fastest, it's going fast and looking good what counts IMO. Good luck man!

If i could do it all over again i would still get my car, well maybe in silver or black. These 2v's have their own personality. Sometimes the will suprise the crap outta you, and other times they will diappoint you. Maybe im just in love wth them but idc lol.. oh and 2v's are the best sound mustangs you will EVER hear.

I just got an LSX car its totally worth it! IMO the Mustangs just feel and drive better. But from any performance aspect the F-body is better.

Hold out and I'd bet you can you can find a lower miles Trans-am or Camaro.
