2003 GT issue
I am linking it here also because I think I might have put it in the wrong section, and I apologize for that. Thanks in advance to anyone who can contribute. Original thread can be found here: https://mustangforums.com/forum/gene...e-2003-gt.html
To start, I bought a 2003 GT back in 2005 with 16,000 miles, and it now has 60k miles and it's been completely trouble-free. A few nights ago, a buddy and me did some basic maintenance: oil, spark plugs, tire rotation and Lucas fuel injector cleaner. We drove it that night without a single problem.
The next day, I went to a job interview and it ran without a problem. Then, when I left again later that day to go into the city, the car began to cut out badly if I hit the gas suddenly or got the RPMs above 3k. I fought this for my entire trip (it misbehaved off and on) until I could get back to my friend's house. I let it idle for a bit, and reved it to about 3k and it sputtered out and would not start again. After believing it was the fuel pump and fuel filter, here is what we discovered:
- no power to fuel pump (so no fuel pressure)
- no spark
- fuel filter was badly clogged, but we replaced it
- all accessories work
- fuel shut-off switch has not been tripped
- ODB II diagnostic gets an error message
The thing simply is not getting fuel or spark. Does anyone have any ideas?

Well guys, just picked it up from the shop. Turns out it was the mass air sensor! Again, a big thank you to all who contributed in this thread.
@Repzard: have you looked at that? Mine was cutting out pretty badly before it finally stopped running altogether. PM me if you want to know more, I'll be glad to help as much as I can.

Ya the sputtering and such made me think it could be your MAF, thats why I recommended using the MAF cleaner. Mine started sputtering and stuff after I reoiled my K&N and I just used the MAF cleaner, problem solved. I have heard its a good idea to use MAF cleaner every other oil change or maybe every change. Its really easy. Actually fixed my dads durango doing the same thing.
