Exclamation PAINT PROBLEM...HELP

i have a 1998 gt, got a aftermarket hood for it, Paint code was e-8, that is what my paint guy painted it..to dark. So . since that was the tri-coat version, we decided to go with the base coat clear coat version, still did not match. I have 2 paint companies working on matching the paint... i know your thinking, the car must not have the original paint job....it does, im the only owner, so if anybody has helpful information on this situation, please let me know....asap
thanks

i dont think so, i also painted my mirrors the same color, and held them to every part of the car thinking that it faded, but it didnt match anywhere, the color on the mirrors and hood, just didnt seem as vibrant

Welcome to the site great...blue and red paint is the most affected by sunlight. I am sure you gave the shop the right paint code, however ask them if there is more than one vendor that supplies that color code, more specifically you'll be looking for a fast dry paint as the slower will darken as it dries and will look darker (maybe the vibrant you are speaking of. post up some pics probably easily identify the problem..

Your problem sounds like one I am trying to avoid in another thread. I hope it was just the wrong paint.
