How would it read horsepower but not torque? I was under the understanding that horsepower is a direct measurement or relation to torque. So how could you have one without the other?

i'm with you there.. i have no idea, but that's what they said. and yes, hp is directly related to torque...
hp = (tq x rpm) / 5252
my main concern was just getting it tuned. get the a/f ratio right, and after i get some more miles on it i'll probably take it to another shop to see what sort of numbers it lays down. right now my seat-of-the-pants meter is telling me it's making pretty damn good power, and that's all that really matters.
(403.66 x 5252)/ 5300 = 400 ftlbs. This is a good guess or place to start.
yeah i know, i just need to go through and chart it out to see... i'd be willing to bet my peak torque is below 5300 rpm and most likely more than 400 ft-lbs.
