Default A/C Problem?

Hi,

I'm hoping that by providing some facts on my car,
someone can guide me in the right direction with my 03 mach1 (63,000km)

Stored the car over winter, tried a/c a few weeks ago and noticed it was warm even on Max setting.

I believe it's the clutch that I hear clicking.
Turning on and off every 10-20 seconds.

It worked fine the summer before.

I read If the system is low on refrigerant, the clutch will not engage (safety feature, keeps you from burning up the compressor due to no oil)

I will check this tomorrow:
There are two wires to that switch (the cycling switch)... purple and dark blue/yellow. Purple wire should have +12 when you turn the key on and have the A/C on. If you do, then the dk blue / yellow should also have +12 .... or the switch is bad...

With the recharge and the dye, I was able to determine the condenser is leaking.

Anyone else been through this?

Sorry I couldnt get to you sooner. But usually a fast cycling compressor is because of low refrigerant. However you were able to figure that out on your own. Leaking A/C systems are unfortunately more common than you'd think. Theres a bunch of causes to leaking components. The condenser isnt a bad job to do yourself, its just having someone evac + recharge the system to spec.

Glad you got it figured out.
