I think you are the only person from which I have heard this, but sounds like that has been your experience, unfortunately

I have been using them for well over 20 years and have had no such issues. I like the Gorilla lugs as EACH ONE is locking, so security is MUCH improved. Imagine if one has a single locking lug on each wheel and a bad guy removes the other four lugs? One good "yank" and the remaining lug-bolt will likely snap and off goes your wheels AND tires.

I have had no issues on two different rides now, so you decide

dont use an impact wrench on the chrome ones...i did on mine and they started rusting along the edges of the hex. they were fine for over a year until i decided to be lazy and use an impact.
