i just bought a sc oo GT today it has a steeda short throw shifter and pops out of 4th gear, thats the only gear it pops out of. i know some shifters pop out of 2 but i dont know about 4th. Took it up to the local performence shop he didn't really look at it but thought it could of be a bent shift fork. will get alot worse over time fast? if your reparing the shirft fork you might as well buy a new tranny. im pretty worried about this now, car only has 36k. it doesn' always go out of 4th thu. I did a test at a stop light put it into 4th and started to inch forward and it poped out. It just changes sometimes it does come out other times it doesn't. I hope its something wrong with the shifter. how much does a Mustang tranny run?

Pull the panel off for the shifter and check the shift stop screw it is probably set a little to tight. If its not set to tight, then yes.. your tranny needs work.

Its prolly the shift stop, if not its a fork, or detent. New trans is about 1500, go used, or remaned from

Just asking, because if so, he must have sold it and bought this GT. That means someone else now has an orange saleen with a questionable paint job.
