**** them. the guy who had to fix what they did wrong said it looked like they put the wheel and differential bearings in with a hammer.

Oh yeah, to contribute, I paid $750 for FRPP parts and labor (all new bearings and seals including wheel bearings, and 2 qts of royal purple) the second time around. The first time I wont mention the price since they did a worse job than I could have done with my eyes closed.

No. Gearheads in Arlington actually has a rep (since I had the work done) for doing **** poor jobs on gear installs. I dunno if the tech I got just has no clue what he is doing or if none of them do but no refund either. They don't honor their work after a few weeks since you cant prove it's not due to driving hard. My problem was I had to drive 3 hours there to have it done and was a noob and didn't realize they weren't supposed to sound like that. And wasn't able to drive back up to get it fixed in a reasonable amount of time since I'm in school and I skipped a day of class the first time around lol. Oh well, it only cost $350 parts and labor so you get what you pay for I suppose. I'd much rather have paid the $750 the first time and saved the trip. You would think a shop with the word "gear" in their name would be capable of correctly installing a set. But they aren't. OK lol /rant.
I'd say $750 parts and labor is about the most you should expect to pay. I don't think I've heard of anyone paying more on here. The guy who charges that much around here really knows his **** and was able to set the backlash to the spec I gave him and guarantees no whine or he'll fix it. With my previous experience I was very willing to pay a premium the second time around. You should try to focus your search on the shop with the best customer satisfaction, rather than the best price. (that probably goes for all jobs, not just gears lol)
