Clunk in Front End with CC plates
Installed CC plates and lowering springs .... OK added the CC plates after springs to get a good front end alignment and now there is a clunking sound coming from one side of car. Almost like the strut is loose on the plate. Checked that and it is not. Whats up with this anyone had this problem before?

I have the same problem and never got rid of it. My passenger side is the only side that clunks when i hit bumps on the road. It all started after I put cc plates on and lowered my car. Changed the springs since then and still does it. Was wondering if it would go away after I install better shocks and struts. I believe it is the top of the strut hitting the bottom of the cc plate, however when i put different springs on I looked up underneath and could not find any sign of two pieces hitting together to make that sound so i am at a loss as well. If anyone could shed some light on this it would be appreciated.

i would also like to know about this cus both sides of my car clunk like that. I have strange 10 ways and they are noisy but i thought that it was just the shocks and struts but i dont really think that it is.

Make sure that all bolts are tight. You might need an extra washer or two to completly make sure that they are on there. When sitting there it might appear to be tight, however under load they will move and make noise if they arent tight enough. I would suggest taking off the top lug adding a washer or two then retightning it and see if the problem continued. That was what i did and problemo solved. Hope that helped!

When you say lug, you mean the nut holding the strut to the plate bearing? I'm going to take it off and add some washers and see if it stops. Freaky since only the passenger side makes any kind of noise and man when it starts, it sounds like you forgot to tighten something major. Will reply after I make some changes.

I had the same problem - ended up being the nut at the top of the strut. I had to drive down the street to a shop and ask them to hit each with an impact wrench. They happily did so at no charge and after that, no more clunking. Hope you figure it out
