I seriously wanted to just grab that Quick and slap him through the computer screen lol. I would love to give him a go with a stock 4.6.

That's the point though. Nobody is arguing that a ligher, mid to high 14 second car will be faster as a better or equally geared car, with a set of DR's on the back.

The OP from the linked thread made it sound like the power advantage below 3K is enough to propel a 5.0 Fox over a 4.6 New Edge Stang.

Now, I STILL don't know about you guys, but the last time I went to the drag strip, the ONLY time my car was under 3500 rpm's or so was while I was on the way UP to 4K to slip the clutch.

A geared/tired 5.0 Fox isn't going to cut THAT MUCH better of a 60' than a 1.85, which is EXACTLY what I cut on a 4.10'd/DR'd '99 5sp...so that in itself out to negate all the bull **** that retard was talking.

I am just surprised that such a person was never called out back then. Well one person did. But hey.. I notice Quik was a 5.0 owner as well. So his bias and insecurities came into play I am sure.

True, I had a debate with a guy at a dealership that said the 99-04's GT's are faster than the s197 GT's stock for stock. I told him no way in hell and he told me I that I just want a s197 and that's why I won't admit it. Which is not true because I like the styling of the new edge better, but I 'm not going to lie and say it's faster than it really is because I have one.
