Stick with a 245 or maybe a 255 on an 8" wheel as anything else is a poor fit and lead to sloppy response on the street. Now DR's are a bit of a different issue and some 275's are rated for an 8" wheel, but have a sidewall too tall for a 17" wheel on a Stang.
