Default o2 sensor questions

My car is running the code bank 1 sensor 2. I have been told many different things about this. I have heard that bank1 means drivers side and i have heard that sensor 2 means passenger side. So I do not know what to believe. Also, is it worth paying the extra 100$ for a ford 02 sensor? Thanks and hopefully yall can clear this up for me.

Bank 1 & 2 and drivers and passengers side. Sensor 1 & 2 is the front and rear 02 sensors

So bank 1 sensor 2 would be the drivers side rear o2 after the cat.

Generally, Ford and Motorcraft parts are always more expensive and don't perform any better or worse than aftermarket parts. I would save the money and get some aftermarket O2 sensors.

bank 1 is the bank with the number 1 cylinder and sensor 2 is the sensor after the converter. so your code is for the right bank and the sensor furthest away from the engine. the left and right of a car are viewed as if you are sitting in the car, not as if you are standing in front of it.

and what code is it running exactly? some of the o2 sensor codes can be caused by wiring and not the sensor itself.

Bank 1 is the passenger's side, that leaves Bank 2 being the drivers side...

Here's a diagram, sensor 11 = bank 1, sensor 1, 12 = bank 1, sensor 2, etc...

Re Ford vs. Bosch, get the Bosch--it's just as good as the Ford unit an will save some money. There are those who will disagree, that's fine--if you wish to believe them then get the Motorcraft part...

I get mine from autozone, no problems, and if it don't fix it you can take it back.

If i remember right, they had two different models when i replaced all four of my o2 sensore when i did my full exhaust,...the two fronts are one model, and the two rears are another. Im not sure if one set is heated and one isnt or what, i cant remember. Just tell them at the counter, they have a computer that telles their dumbasses what to get you.
