After some research I know that the engine does make much more. Are the cobra engines from 96-98 cobras unreliable?
I know for me moving from an 01 GT (more power than 96-98 GT) to my Mach (roughly the same power as 98 cobra) was a night and day difference. I don't know how anyone who had driven both could say that the cobra wasn't worth the upgrade. I'm not all that knowledgable on eaton swaps for the 98 cobras, but if I'm not mistaken there are a LOT of misc. parts you'll need.

those older cobra's really need a gear, like 4.10's or well anything better than the stock 3.27's.

and i'd just go kenne bell or vortech or something. dont use the heaton unless you just want too

maybe not yours lol.

i already told u about swapping the blower from the 03/04 cobras.

you will need newer "c" heads from a 99+ cobra and a 03/04 lower intake manifold.

you will also need the timing cover and a few other odds and ends.

I saw a thread on another site where someone used the existing "b" heads. He didn't specify what he had to do to make it work. I actually think I am going to get a cobra and put a t70 turbo on it. I have experience with turbos on imports and sport compacts but not v8 cars. It will be my first. I need to find out what fuel upgrades, injectors and tuning I will need. I know that I will have to install a tubular k member if I want to retain ac/power steering.

I'd say buy a Cobra if you can afford it. Never turn down the modular 4v!!! Trust, go with the cobra and supercharge it!

OK I have been talked into it. Cobra it is! What year is best 96-97 or 98? The 98 would have a returnless fuel system correct?

Also I was steered toward the delta force tuner w/ special forces software. Is this sufficient for a turbo cobra?
