AL pullies and s/c

Default AL pullies and s/c

i've been looking around and people say you cant run AL pullies with a supercharger. why is this?

If by AL pulleys you mean underdrive pulleys... you can run then but you will basically be underdriving your supercharger... which basically just means you have to spin you supercharger faster to create the same amount of boost you would usually make with the stock crank pulley.

so cant you just put a smaller pulley on the s/c t bring the gearing speed back up?

But why? The smaller pulley you have on the supercharger the more chance you have a belt slip.

oh, i see what youre talking about. is belt slip a problem running 8-9 lbs of boost on stock pullies?

No, typically people are ok above a 3" pulley. But if you're underdriving your supercharger... you could be getting near that point.

I guess I just don't understand why though. Do you not have a stock pulley anymore? Or you just like the look of the underdrive pulley or something?

i still have the stock pully. i was just curious and wondering why. sorry about all the questions. i like to know why something works or doesnt. thanks for the info btw.
