For the time being, 4.30's would suit me very very well. But then when i add a turbo in a little bit, its gonna be sooooo uneconomical for them because id just spin and id be going through the traps in 5th. So im just gonna keep the 4.10's for now, when i build the rear, in go 3.73's and a PMP750 tranny and then onto turbo-land!!!

I have the same issue with the whining/howling @ decel. Except mine's loud.

then you might want to think about having it checked by a professional, especially if it is pretty noticeable. You really AREN'T suppose to hear any gear whine at all.... (I know don't hear any with my 4.10s)

I think that the quality of the FRPP gears is going down because everyone that ive heard of recently getting those gears are getting whine and such. Just a thought. And they went from being black to being polished. Whats the deal with that???

Because my 4.10's were like polished and they did not install like typical FRPP gears and they whine a slight bit like you said on the decel. I think FRPP are making sucky gears now. The pinion gear just slid onto the bearing...that is supposed to be pressed on and they didnt come with a pinion nut which my mechanic said that they always used to come with. So i think that FRPP is starting to skimp out on their stuff.

P.s. ^^^AGREED 10000000% but im switching back to 3.73's when i do my rear end to prepare for boost. :/ so wont be as fun without the boost but once the turbo is in...it'll be just fine
I didnt pay a dime for the gears. I got them for free from a friend who used to own a GT but wrecked it before he could install them. They were also brand new. All I had to supply were the bearings and a little bit of elbow grease

Your going to want less gear for a turbo. Your going to want 3.27 or 3.55 max.

I will not go higher than 3.55's. I want 3.73's because Im not gonna be putting out more than 450rwhp so i think that 3.73's will work. Then when i upgrade turbos and supporting mods and internals, i'll do 3.55's.
