pulling the tranny on jackstands?

i plan on doing the same thing soon. by the looks of it, the hardest part seems to be getting the starter bolts and the top bolts on the bellhousing. I think the 3650 is 120lbs so if you're strong enough you should be able to "bench press" it out of the car

If you can get the cars body high enough, the bench press would work, but it's easier to lower it to your chest, then let a friend slide it out. The starter bolts aren't that bad, you have to come through the motor mount with a long extension to get the top bolt out. The two upper bellhousing bolts are a bitch to get at, you have to jack the motor up in the front to rock it backward to get at em.

nah you dont, ive pulled it twice, i got the top bolts without jacking the motor...the not hard to do, i did it on stands as well

yea i had to buy swivel sockets for that project.. i think they were around twenty bucks at sears

with the cross member dropped and the tranny hanging down the top bolts are not a problem with a long extension and swivels. your best friend would be an impact gun if you have one or can borrow one.

and dont bother putting that pain in a-- starter bolt back in......

try doing it with long tubes... not fun... i had to pull it twice already one for the clutch and than 8 months later for a blown tranny haha

I have impacts swivels jacks and just about every socket and some det cord if i get really pissed haha j/k thanks for the input guys i plan on starting this project next weekend wish me luck
