Default tinting my tailights today

so i have been looking for somone to tint my tailights and they want 80-100 dollars so i bought some vht and clear coat today i am about to try it out any tips? i am going to try it on my sisters stock tails first =)

If you don't mind driving to flint/Davison, My painter will do it for $50-60 and have them to you the next day.

everytime i use that stuff, it fades on tail lights... idk whats up.. works on 3rd brake lights and reflectors, but my friends tails have all faded. so did my old car.. idk wtf is up with that stuff

but most people have no problem. maybe im doing something wrong?

with a car like yours, you should just take it to a body shop and have them spray the tails with a black/clear mixture

otherwise, clean the lens. maybe scuff it up a little bit.. spray nice even coats on. let sit for a little before you apply more coats and make sure you clear coat at the end.

huh i will check to see if any painters around here will do it for that price first. thanks though i will keep it in mind.

ok so that didnt go as well as i thought alot dust got stuck in the vht so i wetsanded it out and cleared it it truned out alright but not good enough to do my mustang so i will be taking it to a shop

good choice on taking it to a shop...

they will look 100000x better... and you know its done right (just like the rest of your car)
