i have a 02 gt w/ flows but i hear mustangs rolling around town that are ridiculously loud. i am in college so i want to know the cheapest thing to do to make my car louder. short of taking off the mufflers or dumping the exhaust. i have already cleaned out my cats also. any suggestions

 

different mufflers...SLP LM1s will make it loud as hell...LM2 sounds better though

If you really want your car loud, do a O/R H and LM1's. There will be NOTHING louder.

find a used offroad H/X pipe (the stock one is 2.25" piping, an aftermarket is 2.5 or 3"). will help the flow a little bit and isnt going to be terribly expensive (150 bucks or so).

depends on your flowmasters too. if you have say some 3 chamber flows they aren't going to be as loud as some 1 chambers....but they will have a cleaner "bubblier" sound. you could get some louder flows or if you just want stupid loud get some race bullets or LM1/2's or magnapacks.

 

loud isn't necessarily a good thing. You might like it for a couple days or weeks but after that its going to get annoying. Id rather have a mustang that sounds awesome, not a mustang thats known for being obnoxiously loud. just my 2 cents

 

^^^ What he said. When i had my 99 gt i loved the added hp. It made the car seem like it was breathing a heck of alot better. I had catted x and LM1's but it was annoying at times. I loved it but when you have to yell just to have a coversation with your passenger, it get kinda old. If you have a GF she prolly wont wanna ride in it either LOL! I had an auto which didnt make it better, since i couldnt shift to a high gear when cruising. Just somethin to think about.

Yes, I third that. O/R H was good for about 5 months and then I just felt like I was annoying people haha. I couldn't drive "normal" without the scar just SCREAMING haha. But I bought a prochamber and it is much quieter now, and still sounds real nice

 

My cars loud, spme people don't get bored with the noise, but it's rare.

I'm partially retarded so my opinion is probably void.
