This is probably the best option, especially if you'd like to take it to the track from time to time. Take it from me, a good shifter can SAVE YOUR TRANS.

Exhaust, look for a good used midpipe and maybe some mufflers... a good sounding stang is priceless

I'm leaning more towards doing exhaust first, short throw second. They are both mods that you will get a lot of of. By that I mean driving enjoyment. Of course building a car is like building a house - you need a good foundation. By that I mean all maintenance issues should be taken care of first.

Good luck

I'm surprised only two people have recommended a shifter. If I were to start over with my car I would get my MGW first, and then some gears right after that. No question.

I guess you and I think alike, cause that is what I did do. I hated the throw of my car, you don't realize how bad it is until you have changed it.

Everyone here is full of good information, personally if I could do it again I would mod in this order. Gears, Shifter, Exhaust, Drop in Air Filter, T/B Plenum and then a good tune. Everyone has different taste in what mods they like the most. I think you would be a little dissapointed if you did pulleys or a full cool air intake. I was bummed when I threw my cool air intake on, didn't feel a dang thing haha Good Luck with your choice have fun modding your pony!!
