Default Winter Jitters

Hey guys, its been awhile since I've started a thread. Over the winter I got a 1999 4runner limited for a daily driver and now the mustang is a fun only driving car. Getting away from drag racing other then the few months a year when the air is good in Oct/Nov. What are good spring rates for the front and rear for cornering? I have coil overs in the front with QA1 struts and still need to instal a strut tower brace. Been finding spots for lower speed drifts to make a video, low speed as in 30-45mph. heres a teaser video i got while looking for filming spots, plan to go out and get some shots with a real camera setup and not on my friends iphone.

Well for coilover front springs, im going with about a 300lb spring since my car will be a DD built to take the corners. For the rear when i go coilovers, im going with a 225-250lb spring. I might decide to go with a little bit stiffer spring but im not sure yet. Good thing about the coilovers is the ability to change the spring rates by just buying another set of springs. But like you, ive recently decided to go more the route of making a fun cornering car than a drag car. Cus im pretty sure last time i checked that a purpose built drag car cannot take the corners like at all but a purpose built road course car can take the drag strip pretty well. But are you doing more of the drifting or are you looking at auto-x and open track too???

I wana do auto-x open track and drift, need a new hobby, it will all just be for fun though. Auto-x will be the starting point and I'll go from there. If i can make some open drift events I'll go but until i do some more work i wont take it to the track just yet. I just paid the car off, and have a nice DD so its time to start using the car for what i bought it for and thats to beat on it.

Yea, what you said is what i want to do with my car too. I dont know about the drifting part of it but i like taking corners more now than just putting my foot to the floorboard and just going straight. I think i want to just make my car corner with the current power and then just maybe do something like a 4v swap with a nasty n/a setup or just stay 2v with a single turbo or something.

Are you going to go with coilovers in the back or are you just going to leave the stock style spring in??? If you are going for handling, i'd suggest the list of mods i think im going to pursue...torque arm, PHB/WL, coilovers on all 4 corners, and then a sway bar if i feel i need it. Jazzer has been helping me a lot with my setup questions and tire related issues and suspension questions in general. Also, im only going to go with the best stuff, MM. They make some of the highest quality pieces out there. But im sure you already know that.
