ppl have me second guessing: future power + rear end?
Last vehicle I modded, blew the tranny & rear in front of the house, after detailing the ride, to see how far I could burnout. Motor was up to the task, nothing else.. IF U CAN, do it all at once, or get ready to spend some coin.
i swear i just saw the paper the other day and now i cant find it...install was like 320, posi was 289 i believe, gears were prolly like 100? and i think the axles were like 250-300? then like misc. fluids and whatnot were like 100...so thats like $1100 for the rear im gonna estimate. then the 18" MT DRs were $500 for the pair, maybe a lil more
Eaton Positrac, 3.73's, + install set me back I believe $11 or $1,200.00 w/ the labor. If I remember correctly, the fully built auto. set me back @ $4200.00... Off the top of my head...Figures could change tomorrow after reciepts are located. Everything purchased new at a shop where I was a first time customer....
It was chevy product. 3000 Prec. Ind. stall. Vette servoe's Stage 3 shift kit, vac. mod. kit., After my set up, 2ft of rubber w/ 20" tires- every 2nd gear shift. I was satified. Did have to bring it back to the shop 2x to soften up gear shifts, otherwise 1/4 pedal would turn over 2nd gear and get really annoying. I was happy w/ the work... Please let me know if the Fords are easier on the wallet.. Look to stall & rebuild soon.
Here in Houston there is a guy who pulls your tranny, builds it to support over 700 and put It back in for $1000. Then buy a new stall + tranny cooler + shift kit will run you close to 2k. Fully built. Btw. I'll be in new Orleans Friday Saturday an Sunday. Might see you there. Lol. And I don't even know you.
