I got full bolt-ons, intake, 75mm throttle body/plenum, shorties, catted x, and lm1 and only put down 255/298 on a custom tune. If you want to be anywhere close to 300 you gotta think about things like heads and cams. I'm doing cams in the future thus why I went with the larger throttle body. I have heard of 5-spds putting down close to 290 to the wheel with just stage 2 cams, cam gears, and valve springs.
its a shame you missed the part where he has a 4v. try again when you have 2 more cams lol

fs308 is right dont fear the gear. I got 4.56 in my daily. gas milage isnt all to bad. It would better if I didnt spend half the time at WOT. Your driving habits will affect gas milage more then the gears will. look at how many people posted changing from 3.73 to 4.10 and all of them are happy and almost none of them said there gas millage was hurt much at all. Do yourself a favor and dont make the same mistake they did.

No, the redline and peak power are made higher. Its like your car with cams pretty much. The power is made higher up so you use steeper gears to get up into the power quicker. And if it were me, id be putting in 4.30's. I have 4.10's in my GT right now and i kinda want either more gear or more power. lol But full exhaust, intake(i'd do the JLT, even though you have to ditch the STB), gears and possibly a new TB with the stock manifold ported out behind the throttle body to accept a dragon/accufab monoblade throttle body and then get it all tuned and i think you could very well be close to the 300rwhp mark. But as suggested, i'd get a set of 03 cobra/mach 1/navigator heads and some cams and you'll be well off into the 3xxrwhp range.

Not really. The power is shifted, not extended. So the cobra will be making less power in the lower rpm's, but still probably as much as the 2v because of being more efficient, but their power doesnt come on til later in the rpm band. Cobra's really get about the same or better gas mileage as the 2v's do. My friend with a cobra gets like 26mpg on trips and stuff, which is around what i got stock and is about what i get now.

Would wear and tear be an issue by going with 4.10's? I drive to school about three times a week 30 miles round trip. I have an auto and usually go about 80 on the freeway and i read with 4.10's i'll be tacking at 3k rpm. That seems excessively high and i'm afraid of long term wear and tear on my motor keeping it at 3k for that long. Car has 81k miles.
