Default ok so i f'n hate this thing

i get one thing fixed and another tears up. its like building a house of cards you get one side up then the second and then the first side falls back down. so i take off in the stang and i hear "clank" "clank" "clank" after checking a few things i have my uncle pull the diff cover off and what do you know the 10 bolts holding the ring in place are either halfway out, laying in the differential itsself or crushed inbetween the ring and posi. my pinion looks like someone took a grinder and started hacking at it. my mechanic (ex mechanic after today) is the one who installed these 4:10s.

i wanted it done by friday because i want it for this weekend so my uncle said if i find a new ring and pinion hell have her done for me so i went to my local salvage yard and i found some 3.55s and 3.73s which is downgrading in my opinion but i went with the 3:73s and figured theyed go nicely with what i received today

It sounds as though your "ex-mechanic" did not use LocTite and/or did not torque the bolts properly--that's why I have been doing these sorts of things myself for the last 50 years...

from the '03 shop manual:

After getting screwed with the welding of my subframe connectors (nearly when I first bought my car), I've decided that if my car ever goes into a shop, it will only go to top reputable Mustang performance shops...
