Okay, well I finally got the car and it runs strong. The smoke is blueish, although because of the weather it's hard to tell. Rubbing your hand along the exhaust tip and you get oil on your finger.

I asked the builder about it and this is what he said.

- The rings are Stainless Total Seal Gapless Top, which he said take a while to break in, but should work well with boost and also last a long time.
- Currently, the car is running Joe Gibbs break in oil which is like a 10w-50 if I remember correctly.
- He checked the Valve Guides and Seals, said the seals were replaced, and that everything else checked out fine to reuse.
- The PCV Valve Assembly was also replaced.

He said that I should just drive it spiritedly, and that it would take awhile, probably with some hard driving for them to seat. I should at this point keep him updated, and if all else fails, the job isn't complete and until it's complete and he'll fix it. So, we'll see how it goes! Considering he's offering to fix it if it doesn't stop, I assume what he's saying now is the truth...but I'll give it a few more miles. Are these particular rings in fact that much harder to seat? Supposedly, they take a courser hone.

dont know much about the rings, if its already gone a few hundred miles, id say put some normal 10-30 in it, no synthetic, and run the **** out of it. I cant imagine it would some to much longer? dont take my word for it, see what other people think
