Default Cam question

I hate to start a new thread just for this but I'm having trouble finding an answer.
I was looking at the stage 1 cams that AM sells and I want to get them. But then I see they sell cams that cost a lot more for FI applications.
If I were to get the stage 1's then get a blower in the future would I be able to keep those camms in or would I have to get a new one.

What cams are they? Most stage 1 n/a cams (and some stage 2's) will work with a blower as long as you run lower boost.

Like these stage 1 cams.

I also looked at the stage 2 but I remember reading that an n/a setup shouldn't get them, which is what I am at this time

Yeah, they would work with mild boost. They just won't be the best choice. You could also buy a blower speced cam now if you think it's in your future. It would probably only cost you 5-10 hp n/a.

PTV clearance will be very tight with those stage 2's. That's the one main reason i'd stay away from them.

BTW, if you think you will most likely stay n/a, there are better choices IMO.

Well I want to do a blower. But I really like the sound of cams. Are the blower spaced cams the ones that are like $1500?

Blower and n/a cams cost the same. Average cost is around $600.

OP if you are planning on doing FI in the future then I recommend you buy blower cams even though you are na today. I would go for a stage II cam like CMS II blower cam.

It would be fine, as long as there are no clearance issues to begin with. There are plenty of blower type cams that you could run in the meantime, without issues. Check out Modular Head Shop. They have a ton of different grinds.
