sr20fd3st I dont believe there are any companies that make a roots style supercharger for the 99-04 GT. Its also important to note that Kenne Bells are NOT roots style blowers. They are Twin-Screw superchargers you should research the two. They work in a very similar fashion mechanically but twin-screws are far more efficient.

The only way I know of to get a roots on a 99-04 GT is to get the Eaton blower off of a Cobra. The intake manifold needed to make this happen is $2,000+ as it is. Roush may make a roots for this car but I'm not sure.

Full bolt ons + H/C/I will net you 350RWHP in a perfect scenario while costing far more than $4,000.

I don't think you will have enough compression with stock internals to reach your goal with H/C/I. You might be able to pick up a used KB for $4,000. Supercharged car can be very reliable.

IMHO, I think its silly to buy a SC and throw it on a stock car only to HAVE to keep the boost to only 7ish psi...spend the money and install it only to utilize a portion of the SC's ability. SC on stock internals CAN be safe deff, but it still wears on the care more and i would think shortens the cars life.

but i agree that cost vs performance i would say SC, but if you do heads cams full bolt ons....it would be "safer" in the long run but you wouldnt put out the higher numbers.

NOW, if you plan to build the motor later down the road, then SC it now and keep the boost down. when the time comes build the internals and put the SC back on at higher boost.

i dont have ALOT of experience with SC, i did help my brother put a vortech on his 00 GT automatic and got 330rwhp...was on stock internals then sold the car maybe months later so i dont know how the car is holding up now.

I've been running a ProCharger at 9 psi for 3 years and 58,000 miles. I do not drive like grandma and my car will never need Seafoam to get carbon off the valves but I also never run it hard cold. The motor currently has 138,000 miles and it uses no oil. Our little 4.6 is a strong, reliable motor that will hold up supercharged if you do not get greedy. Keep it at 370-380 rwhp (435-450 hp at the crank), don't run it cold, keep it off the rev limiter and it should last a long time.

Have I shortened the motors life? I don't know. I suspect people who never change their oil shorten their motor's life more.

Yea... S/C is the best bang for your buck. Like above ^^^ your spending around 4k and thats not including labor (if you choose to). I've known a couple guys who have spend around 3grand in parts choosing to keep in n/a instead of going s/c. They kept their stock MAF & Intake manifold but added: U/D pullies, t/b, pleunum, Stag 2 ported heads w/ oversized valves, cams, long tube headers, o/r xpipe, weld-in exhaust... tuned and are only making 324-330whp. For a little bit more you can have a WHOLE lot more

FI is way better than na period. you got to love the boost. Keep it to 8-9 psi 370 rwhp and you will be good to go with a solid tune. I speak from experience that these motors stock motors don't like rwhp figures north of 400 rwhp especially with consistent high revs.

you put a legit 350rwhp up against 370rwhp centri car and i bet you 9/10x the all motor car will abuse the centri car.

just food for thought

i know it would cost more and cost vs outcome a SC would win...but if money was no issure, i would deff build a NA beast. it's all too common and easy to slap a SC on, id like to get down and dirty and go the NA rout.

i know many people think that is wasted money and time to get hp LESS than a SC...but ask me if i care. something about saying "yea i make 350rwhp with this blower..." "well i make the same without one"

again i personally would not mind putting in extra time/effort to do that, some people would

im not doubting that putting a SC on could last a long time, but it's someting else that if not done right could mess some stuff up lol.(much like anything we do to our cars i suppose)
