it is the first of the 408 electric green coupes...its a mustang cobra..it has collectors value, period...and its a tough color to paint..the shop doesnt wanna repaint the whole thing cuz its more work for them...it isnt a terrible idea to get it repainted but if its a great shop like u claim it is, then itd prolly be fine to just repair normally with blending

ill see if theres any shot they can push for repainting for sure though, and if they do just do the repair and i can tell it's been repainted even a little bit, there not gonna like me very much

You have to convince the Insurance Co. that the car needs to be repainted not the Shop. There only going to do what the Insurance Co. authorizes them to fix not a thing more.
What did I miss how can this be anybody's but the guy that hit you fault. He should have gotten a Failure to Sop ticket. Is there something your not telling us if it is somehow your fault?

OK I am missing why your own insurance company is involved at all here. You were hit from behind. That is a non-debatable at-fault accident by the other driver. HIS insurance will have to cover it. If he is not insured, sue him for every penny he is worth. Do NOT under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES FILE A CLAIM WITH YOUR OWN INSURANCE COMPANY!
That will raise your rates and be reported when your next insurance company re-quotes your coverage after this one decides to drop you because you are a risk.
As far as the paint goes, there is no reason any painter worth his salt cannot fix that properly. If he cannot blend it because of the metallic paint, then he needs to spray the entire panel that is damaged. It is very simple. I had to have my hood, door, and two fenders repainted entirely on my truck when it was vandalized, because it had metallic paint. I hope sincerely someone isn't trying to take you over the coals here. And by the way, 8k for a paint job? Thats more than twice as much as i was quoted for an entire repaint and fixing body damage on my car, just two weeks ago... and I have a metallic paint to...

I agree on fixing it, and also as devongarver said, if the body shop can't fix and blend it without it being noticeable then it needs to go somewhere else. My dad owns his own bodyshop and I've seen many silver and gold metallics go through the shop and have different places blended so well that no matter which way or what kind of light you looked at it with you couldn't tell it was repainted.

Yes it's right on the corner at walgreens near Johnathan Law High school in milford, CT.
And lemme just explain the WHOLE scenario here just to clear everything up.
I was driving in the right lane with my blinker on ready to take the right trough a green light, There was a sprinkler spraying into the street at the turn, so mind you while my blinker had been on for like 800 ft and i was going maybe 5mph i took a slightly wide turn, but making sure i kept in my lane (Lanes on that road are rather wide) and like 3/4 of the way through the turn the guy behind me in the right lane also smashes into me, spins me completely around into another car waiting at the light on the road i was turning onto. When I got out of my car and made sure everyone was alright the two cars you see in the pics both had seen the whole thing, and after talking to both drivers, they both said the dude behind me was flying and said that i had my blinker on, i took the turn perfectly just a little wide which wouldnt matter anyways because the guy in the right lane hit me not the left and i had my blinker on and was slowed to like nothing, and he woulda hit me regardless of how i took the corner. But the guy to hit me said I was in the left lane and turned in front of him.
Now when the cops showed up, first thing they did was go get the old mans story, then the girl I hit when i spun, and so on. I was standing like 2 feet away from the cop while the kid noone hit but who got stuck in the middles statement, and he told the cop "He had his blinker on to turn right from the right lane, and was making the turn a little wide, but not very wide, and that guy just flew into him from the right lane like he didnt even see the car." and the girl i hits story was about the same, but like 50min after the accident all of a sudden some teacher shows up and starts saying he was right behind us in the left lane?! So in the end when the cop wrote up the report he told me and i quote "Well i really can't take your witnesses into account because there view was obstructed" And even after my witness told the cop how his view was perfect for the whole thing the cop just started to threaten us with tickets for BS, he issued me a warning for making an improper right turn. And told me how i probably just made a little bit of a wide turn from the right lane...even though he just sided with the dude who calmed i was in the left lane. So in the end, I have to go through my insurance company because they need to investigate, by interviewing my witnesses again, and do the POI report, due to the obvious fault of the other driver. Because both my adjuster and insurance agent said the same thing as someone before "You got hit in the rear taking a right turn, it's 100% there fault, and even IF you were in the left lane and turned where they hit you he would have been paying no attention to the road and it would STILL be no less then 80% his fault"
SOOO...that is why i need to go through my insurance company police failed to investigate properly so insurance throws police report out the window and investigates themselves, O and FYI Allstate has accident forgiveness so this dosn't effect anything...Everyone who was there pretty much said because me and my main witness were 18,19 yo, and the other witness was a teacher and the guy who hit me was 70, it was obvious he was just playing the whole 19 yo driving a cobra BS!

And for anyone near Stratford ct, I have the car at Schock's autobody on ferry blvd, they have painted two of my dads chevelles before and did fantastic jobs on everything. Anyone know something i might be missing about them?
And as for the paint job, I am begining to feel as if they just don't want to have to do it...
