As for the cost I would take a high powered smooth v6 over w/ a built engine and 6 speed tranny any day over a 5 speed v8, that extra 4-5 grand does not bother me nor someone who can afford it. 30mpg and running 13's off the bat is really apealling for a 3.7l car, add a turbo on that with some nice suspension and thats one hell of street car. I think alot of people are pissed that a new v6 will rape there bolt on v8's and keep up with the boosted v8's with little work done. If people are that worried about their financial needs that bad then maybe you should not be in this hobby.
What part of increasing your motors output by 40% is "little work" to you? You thought modding a V8 to 140% of its output was expensive with a 4.6?

Who cares about car value these days? People who dont make $100,000 a year. And if you "have the money" and your that free to spend it, why arent you getting a 2011 GT? Why in the hell would you be worried about MPGs? What part about owning a used New Edge is "un steady" and doesnt help your credit? I dont know about you, but my payments are "steady" they dont mysteriously increase at any random month. I don't know about you but I got a loan on my car and my credit is just dandy when I pay my bills.

What mustang owner cares about 30 MPGS? Throw a turbo on that V6 and some suspension work and what you have is THE PRICE OF A 2011 GT.

You certainly arent speaking on my behalf in terms of envy of the 2011. I'm friggin pumped about the new 2011 powertrains. But I will **** ALL OVER any 2011 V6 that lacks IQ enough to be willing to run with me with 9 PSI through a KB.

and GRAYSTANG (fixed), if your so financially care free and have money comming out of your orifices, then why is the biggest turn on for everyone ive seen ranting over the v6 the estimated 19/31mpg?
Because its a great addition to a car that hauls ***, dont act like you would not prefer average MPG that gets 18/30 over 14/25 (just throwing numbers out there so whining about how anyones car gets 19 to gallon while driving grandma style). I never sayd I have money coming out my orifices I just stated if you that money for the extra 5 grand then why not spend (read carefully brah).

Look. This car may be just temporary. Once I get a job after I graduate I will buy a V8 weekend warrior. This V6 may just be only a DD for now. The transmissions are the same on the V8 and V6 and I even believe they use the same computer. If they do use the same transmission and computer there can be a 5.0 swap in the future when I see a wrecked GT!

I test drove it today.. It was an automatic. I have one word! WOW! The car pulls harder than my GT up top. 3rd gear pulls hard!!!! VERY HARD! Off the line and through second my GT just goes, but doesn't nearly have the pull like the V6 in 3rd.. It amazed me. I honestly really like the V6. AGAIN. If I could afford the GT I would, but at this moment in time I cant. Plus if I feel like it, in a few years I can trade up if the 5.0 swap is not doable.

I might just temporarily leave the V8 scene. Its not like I will not be back, and when I do come back you better believe I wont come back soft either.

I never stated I was speaking on your behalf and where the hell did it say I had the money for the new 5.0 ? some of you are so quick run that E-gangsta stuff its very entertaining, Did you not read where why I stated having a car payment is a good ideal ? I simply stated if you have the money for the new mustang (the new v6) over a 16k s197 then why not spend it (again read carefully). Honestly all car buyers now a days should no that car value holds no place as it once did so why buy a car to trade in next year ? barely no one does that anymore, people are buying cars to keep.

Speaking of depreciation. I looked also at the 2010 GT's on the lot. With my X plan, $4200 rebate, they were going to let a $33,000 car for $25,999... Thats depreciation right there. Still, $25,999 is out of my budget. If I could, I would have chosen the 3V over the V6. Im not stupid. Crazy yes

I can agree that cars are not an investment they are an expense. But the only person that isnt affected by car value is someone who is going to drive that car off the lot and own it until it is no longer drivable or sellable. Not too many peeps.

E-Gangsta? Please........i'm not the one that called out boosted V8s.

Do you think they would totally fabricate their numbers just because of brand bias, despite basically most magazines cumming all over the place over the new 2011? That mpg figure is factual data, not opinion-based.
