Go with MMR 800 short block with 18" dished pistons will yield you 9.5 compression ratio which is what i went with. If you are planning on running KB then drop it to 9.0.

Will that meet my goals for an 11/10 sec car? Along with the motor stuff i plan on getting skinnies for the front and and new struts and as i said all the weight reduction.
Alot of guys on here are running low 13/high 12 numbers on full bolt on cars. I might eat these words when I get a blower, but if you can run those numbers with a bolt on car (good suspension, tires, and the right gear being included) AKA under 300hp, you should hit 11's with a blower on it. With the weight reduction you're talking about and the fact that you'll have a bottom end that will allow you to up the boost, you should be hitting 11s easy. Add to the fact that you have ported heads, I think you'll be just fine. If anything, maybe get blower spec cams down the road, you should be hitting 10's no problem.

yeah for real thanks a lot guys. So basically my plan of action im leaning towards is a forged shortblock with my heads cams etc... and than a blower. So give me all your suggestions for that combo. Thanks guys. And hpwrestler i dont need a nother block im buying a truck to use for my side jobs and stuff for now and completely redoing this whole car. Its gonna be an 11/10 second street car.

You don't need a forged block to run 11s or 10s.

Did you have a motor built by MP or know someone who does? Just curious why you recommend them so strongly.

I've read from people who have had them and they are great motors. There are a lot of cars that has his motors that have won championships with them. Nick highly recommends him and John is the inventor of the mod motor. Mrtstang has personally talked to John Tymensky and John told mrtstang quite a few things that would surprise a lot of people about the other engine builders out there. He is also known to have ways off getting extra hp out of his motors that only very few other people know how to.

I do not have one of his block but when time comes for a forged block, John is who I will call.

From his website it looks like you would need to call about them building you a block. He has stuff for sale on his website just like the other sites.
