LOTS of guys running those on svt performance.com... lots of people here have a lot of opinions about a lot of parts they dont even have or have experience with. funny

semi true, but he will still have an issue with torque if he goes for a higher torque number.

I think it would be much easier and much more convienient for him to go with the 61mm now, run 450rwhp on his combo now, with 600+lb/ft of torque, and then when he gets his heads, if he does find that the 61mm is running out of steam, then go with a 66mm...

the only reason I would consider the 66mm to be a better choice is if he was revving high, 6600+rpm. In that case, I would definitely say that the 66mm is a great choice, because then the ~200rpm drop that he'll experience on the low end will more than be made up for above 6000+rpm.

if he's only going to be running to about 6200RPM, don't even bother with a 66mm, stay with the 61 and you'll have a perfect combo.

If he does decide to go above 6200RPM, go with the 66, and add slightly more lift/duration to the cam profile.

^Thats what im saying...adding heads and cams and intake you'll be getting up above 6000rpm and you'll want the bigger turbo. He is talking about the trickflow heads which have extreme high rpm potential and with some good turbo cams from CMS or MHS and say an edelbrock or TFS intake manifold, he would be up in the 6500rpm range and would want the bigger turbo. Another thing to consider is the fact that he would have to find a home for the 61mm and buy the 66mm outright which is not cheap. So thats why im suggesting the 66mm turbo off the bat. I think that it makes more sense than to have to shell out more money even though at that time he'll have just done h/c/i and thats like $4k plus install. I just think it would be smarter to go with the bigger one for right now that way he doesnt have to buy another turbo. nah mean? its like those who have 600rwhp goals and they know they are going to get there but they buy a V1...at least buy a T trim and run that for now that way you dont have to buy another blower later down the road. He is already prepped for the 600rwhp goal with his shortblock that he has, so i think he should get the bigger turbo. Do you somewhat agree?

I just put my 3.27 gears back in the other day and the car feels way better... I am able to stay in the boost longer without having to shift so soon... but when I get a MMR longblock with stage 3 heads and custom cam I will prob go back to the 3.73s or 3.55
