Default Midpipe advice needed

Hey guys ive got a 04 gt auto with cai and slp lm catback. Im looking to get an o/r x pipe but i cant decide which I want even after listening to a bunch of clips. I know for sure i dont want pypes because i hear they are a bit of a pain to install, but other than that what would you guys suggest for me?

UPR is on the cheaper end of midpipes. I got one and it hangs a little low toward the back where it bolts to the catback. Nothing a little heat and some force to bend it a bit higher. If you get a bassani/magnaflow you will pay a lot more, but won't have to worry about fitment issues. I didn't mind adjusting the pipe to save some money. But I'm lowered about 1.25" so if you are on stock springs....you won't scrape. I only do on tall speedbumps.

Also I would not suggest a catless midpipe with LM1 pipes....A LOT of rasp and pop will come of it. I don't know what LM's you have...1's or 2's

I can say from experience...... If you have LM1's either get a catted pipe or switch to LM2's (what I did) which look similar but have some sound deadening material packed in them. LM1's w/ o/r x literally sounds like running no catback at all, as if it were dumped at the midpipe (tried that too one time just for a quick trip to the liquor store).

Yea but that's a 4V...I'm sure you can find a x pipe and slp setup on youtube with a 2V.

Only differance in sound would prob be between a BBK type x pipe and a true x pipe like a UPR, Pypes, Mganaflow etc.

I went with the SLP Catted X , droning only above 3000rpm , so basically loud when you want it to be loud. i thought it would give a deeper tone along with my LM2's but it is surprisingly not , but it is really clean and aggresively sounding. cant be happier. The reason for me going with the SLP Cated x is because now i get to choose between longtube headers or short tube headers. The Short ones would bolt right up but the long ones i would only have to remove 4 bolts . THATS IT

first off thanks a lot for the replies so far guys!

but ok, I got this car used, and the guy I bought it from didnt even know what catback was on it. When i asked him he said he didnt know, just knew that it was after market. How could i tell if it is the lm 1s or lm 2s? because the only thing i see is just the slp logo.

Oh and MCxQubed im in brick, its on the shore next to pt pleasant, what about you?
