window tinting question
#11
Cool & thanks. I don't drive during the day much anyway, so I don't see cops really being a problem. I'm in the burbs...now that I think about it, I know a cop and will just ask him what he thinks. We went to HS together, so he's cool.

It also depends on what color interior you have. When I hade a Black with Black leather Mark 8, I had 35% on side, quarter and back window and you can deff tell it's tinted.
If you have lighter, grey or tan interior, 35% would not look as dark. Something to ask about/keep in mind. I went 35% just to stay legal regardless what the cops think, also kept the receipt from the tint shop saying it's 35% if I got bothered for it.

Here is what my buddy had to say:
Well, the law says that 70% of light must pass through the window. So basically any tint is too much. You can get pulled over for it and get a ticket. Personally, I don't pull people over for it, but there are Officer's that do. It's only a ticket, no points involved.
It really all depends on the Officer and if he wants to break your *****.

I used to have a burgundy Eclipse with a light tan interior. My wife got it tinted for me at 35% all the way around, being that we like the look better of it being even toned as such (in comparison to a friend who has 50 in the front and 35 in the back). While the 35% wasnt SUPER dark, it definitely made a difference. Soon I'm going to take my Mustang in and get it tinted at 35% all the way around (black with the two-tone grey interior). I'm sure that if you want to stay legal or pretty close to it, the 35% will make enough of a difference where you can tell that it's tinted. There's a few other threads about tinting percentages and a lot of people are going so dark that they are having issues seeing behind them at night. Do your best to avoid that for your own safety.... just my $.02.

Dont waste your $$ bothering with the light tint. I think you should go with Limo in the rear window, (5%) and 20% on the sides...If you get pulled over roll both windows down all the way. F em, its your car.

I'm in Devon (still chester county). My family has a cabin along the Brandywine River, which is very close to Kennett, so I know the area well (I also am friends with the owners of the Half Moon in Kennett).
Have you ever been pulled over?
