I don't wanna call that software wrong, but it just defies all logic that the vert weighs less than the coupe. I mean I've been reading Car & Driver for 2 yrs and not once have I seen a vert that was lighter than its roofed version. If someone has an example, please enlighten me

the coupe weighs 3280 and convertible is 3,429 lbs. The vert has electric motors to go topless plus suspension mods, sorry not trying to be a dick but I too have never heard of a convertible being lighter unless its a roadster and your swapping from a non motorized soft top to a hard top.

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is the Pagani Zonda R.

Have any of you guys calling bS on stats ever been under a vert or seen a vert without the back seat? I bet not

Subframe connectors(the non full length) are nothing but a POS 3' 1/8th" square tube... if they are even 1/8th inch. and the "brace" is nothing more than a cheap piece of crap also. there is NO way in hell that the cheapo subframes and the k-member brace and the TINY motor for the vert weight 200lbs collectively.

I would bet my bottom doller that a roof and rear glass weight a hell of a lot more that a convertible top and a plexiglass window...

the "bracing" weighs maybe 30lbs collectively.

that wouldnt be applicable.. you would need an unmodded fresh off the line car.. everyones car now would be living up to its GVW not curb weight.

Are you sure the software is right? Everytime I look at both the curb and gross vehicle weight it comes back as the coupe being lighter by 100-200 pounds. Could it be an error in the software? That stuff does happen and those numbers just don't SEEM right to me.

dunno, could be an error on the softwares part, but it seems unlikely to me that a vert weights 200 more lbs than a coupe. I dont understand where the extra weight is coming from..

a hand full of small things here and there.

just some ideas:

you got the power top with its motor and electronics, power quarter windows and their associated hardware, and a bit of extra bracing.

im sure there are differences in the chassis else where but i have no idea where to start. windshield area maybe?
