So my A/C does not blow near as hard as it used to, and as this became noticeable i realized that my compressor is turning on and off every 7-8 seconds and its making a loud whistling noise half of the time. Anyone know what this is? A bad compressor or maybe just low on freeon?? any help wpould be great. Thanks

It could be either, checking the refrigerant first will be the less expensive of the two.

It's not actually Freon. Freon was DuPont's trade name for a range of chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) refrigerants, r134a is a hydrofluorocarbon (HFC).
