Default stock long block

Where can you buy a stock brand new 2v long block or stock short block. I see all kinda of short blocks for cobras and such but none for a stock 2v engine.

Junkyard.

Why would you want to buy a brand new stock long block? Seems like a waste of money to me.

The reason why i ask is I never plan on a turbo or supercharger and i think it would be a waste to pay $2600 for a stock cobra bottom end If I can get a decent prodution shortblock cheaper and then put the pi heads on there with a set of cams and have a nice realiable motor. Im not into drag racing at all im more into the autocross and want a realiable engine that i can use as a dd if i had to and run autocross on the weekend.

But of coarse im open for opinions. I dont want a junkyard engine i would like it to be brand new.

How much would it cost to rebuild the stock engine without going to crazy with to much aftermarket stuff.
