Default 2002 Mustang GT Convertible. A few questions.

I just picked this 2002 Mustang GT Convertible up I got a pretty good deal on it but it does need some work.

1. When I get into the car and put the key in it wont start unless I press the unlock button on my alarm remote.

2 This is my 3rd mustang Ive had a 1988 GT convertible and a 1990 LX both with the 5.0 HO. I feel my GT I have now dosnt have as much torque or power. My new mustang dosnt smoke, dosnt use any oil, No service engine light it does have aluminum pullies for the crank shaft water pump and alt (so I dont know if there underdrive but assuming they are light weight) My car has stock headers with with straight pipes I think it has the magnaflow mufflers on it sounds like a stock car lol. I was woundering if maybe it could be the wrong exhaust set up for my car I love the sound but could it be robbing power from it. Or should I start else were.

Thank you in advance and sorry about the spelling.
Josh

step 1 - remove shorted/crappy alarm
step 2 - remove mufflers and have straight pipes all the way out, with the cats still on there

Its the stock ford alarm Im sure. I think what might have happend is its the original ford remote but maybe not the right key? If the key isnt chipped right it wont start the car unless the remote disables it? Not for sure just a thought.

Also I looked under my car i thought it still had the cats but it dosnt its the 3inch pipe and each pipe had magnaflow mufflers (they look square but they say Magnaflow) It does have the stock headers and all the welds are very clean with no leaks. Do you still think remove the mufflers and go straight pipes even though there are no cats? The car is really loud right now I dont even think you would consider those muffles lol
