lost my power steering

Default lost my power steering

i was driving today and i lost my power steering and brakes. Any ideas the pump doesnt make any noise.

probably the hydroboost unit. its the heart of the power brakes and the power steering is what assists the brakes

^+1, that's about it. There is a relief valve in the power steering pump that if stuck open would not allow the pump to build any pressure at the outlet.

I had to replace mine on the 99 just for a small continuous leak. Was pretty expensive (800+) from Ford, so I strongly recommend trying to get one off a wrecked mustang if u can.

$800, good lord--they're less than $200 at your FLAPS...

However as both the power steering and brakes are not behaving I would be much more inclined to look at the fluid level/pump first...

i read someone had this happen to them and it was the master cylinder.
