Huh? If oil galleys aren't large enough, and the pump is not strong enough, the engine is going to be starved of oil. Maybe I'm missing something but I've always known that to be true.
I have no idea at all as to what the above statement is intended to assert, convey, or otherwise put forth--other than a blatant display of a complete lack of knowledge as to what the SAE "grade" numbers mean, fluid dynamics, and internal combustion engine design in general.

Hint--they (SAE grade assignments) are at best only indirectly related to a motor oil's actual viscosity...

You come on here to ask a question and get plenty of answers/responses and you argue with everyone?? If you already know the answer then don't post, simple as that!!

Hell aussie engines might have had a stronger oil pump and been able to run a thicker oil, who knows. But based on what I've read here and know about engines, I'm going to assume a 5-30 would be ok in this thing. If I blow it up **** it, I'll throw in a S/C Cobra drivetrain.

Actually considering since the GT500 and the 200GT both use Windsor iron blocks then yes they are basically the same. Same oil clearances, same oil pump other than the 4V is 1MM thicker to account for double the valvetrain.

Thats total BS, oil design temps are the same averaging 220-280F (I might know a couple of the Ford powertrain engineers)

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe.

I am a little surprised the GT500 uses the same block and oil pump as a windsor GT.

I can't read it all now, but it looks like a good read I'll have to see if I can better understand it better later, thanks for the link.

How am I arguing with everyone? I simply stated what I thought ot be ture. I never said you were wrong. No need to get your pannies in a bunch. I'm reading and trying to learn, not everyone is born with a wealth of knowledge. I'm just trying to get an explanation as to why what I thought is wrong.

BTW I like your car that's one of my favorite colors, any in your face blue really. I was a big fan of the moonlight blue from the mid 90's that they put on the taurus, and the blue from the 60's that was on the Boss, I forget what it was called. What color is that on your beast if you don't mind me asking?
