Year one offered a kit that bolted to the bottom of the hood that routed air from the scoop to the intake. Have you ever considered that approach.

I would just like to find a place that sells (or could make) a flat black metal piece that just covers the honeycomb. They have stainless ones on ebay, but the companies don't/won't make a flat black one.

how bout you just buy that one, prime it, and hit it with some flat black spray paint? or get a dremmel with a wire brush and take it down to bare metal then powder coat it.

I have thought about that except for one thing:

I am VERY lazy

Seriously, never thought about having it powder coated. That would be a good route to take.

Looks good Drag. I was woundering about the water thing. Wouldnt water be entering the motor on the mach 1 set up or any set up? If not how did they stop that problem?

The mach 1 system has a drain. You could easily make your own inner scoop out of sheetmetal, but it would look wack with the hood open.

Iv wrestled with this idea for years.. just not worth it. Your getting zero functionality out of a lot of work.

You can easily do it, you just need the brackets to attach the system to a 2v
