How much (about) should I be paying for a front right wheel hub? I have found one online for about $100. How long should this install take?

Oh, one more questions about the hub...The ford dealership messed up my hub, and replaced it, and I was wondering...If I had a new hub put in, is the wheel bearings in the hub, or behind the hub?

the hub and wheel bearings are a sealed unit.

Alright, a few questions as I am aboutt o change the hub.

It looks fairly straightforward but I am wondering:

1. Does the hub assembly require grease? I bought a new hub and it does not have grease on it.
2. The grease cap on the hub ---------------------- do you HAVE to replace it with a new one? Also, the Hub retaining nut (the one smack in the middle with a sh*t load of toqrue on it)... do you have to replace that too?

Obviously you have to torque that center nut. Is the job for OUR cars fairly similar to this 2006 GT? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTtCqbZGi8c

Here's the front hub R&R from the shop manual, the replacement assembly should be pre-lubricated as it is sealed unit. I would reuse both the grease cap and nut, there's a lot of CYA in the modern shop manuals.

The spec for the nut is 258lb/ft which is as you have indicated is RFT--130lbs on a 24" bar, which is what I recommend; 25" breaker bars are common at the FLAPS, get one and guesstimate your body weight vs. 130lbs on the bar.

--------------------------------------
Now that I have done this, may I ask that you change your avatar?

I and a number of others I have "spoken" to find it annoying (one friend said it made him "want to slap somebody")--to be honest I find it obnoxious to the point that I ignore many of your posts.

Avatars¹ are intended to be an iconic representation of the poster's personality and/or predilections. I suspect you would gain some stature from using something more fitting your real personality--unless of course that annoyingly "in-your-face" image does indeed fit your personality...

-------------------------------------------------------------
¹ = Definition of AVATAR

1: the incarnation of a Hindu deity (as Vishnu)

2
a : an incarnation in human form

b : an embodiment (as of a concept or philosophy) often in a person

3: a variant phase or version of a continuing basic entity

4: an electronic image that represents and is manipulated by a computer user (as in a computer game)
