Default time for a tune ?

so ive installed a t/b and a plenum, 4.10's a cai and an x pipe and a shot throw shifter. time for a a dyno tune or is there much point. also how much lower to LT's sit then the stock exhaust i already have trouble with some speed bumps where i work is it going to be worse if i get long tubes ? the other thing is im going to get the steeda pulleys. should i wait untill after i install thoose to get the tune or will it not make much of a diffrence if i do a tune then install the pulleys

with bolt ons only, you dont "need" a tune as the stock one is loose enough to cover what you have. pulleys will have no effect on your tune, same with the sts and 4.10's (since you cant recalibrate the speedo with a tuner).

a canned tune will give you a bit of a boost, however any canned tune will not be as good as it could be... get a AFR wideband and you can tune your fuel with your tuner better and add degrees of timing at the track until your trap speeds start decreasing. thats what I did and I trap at 104-105 with stock cams, haha.

I really liked what my Sniper tuner did on my car. A good dyno tune would be worth it, I think. I wouldn't pay an arm and a leg for one, but a few hundred would be money well spent I think.

dyno tunes are worth the money but the mods the OP has dosen't really justify him spending 200 bucks to get one...I would slap on some LT's maybe cams and then get the dyno tune..

this^

especially if he plans to do some big mods like f/i that would require him to have it re-tuned

Cliffyk, whose opinion people seem to trust and respect, will argue (I think) that even a completely stock Mustang will benefit noticeably from a tune. What that is worth in terms of dollars will vary depending on who you ask I guess.

These cars like said get some decent HP from a tune but a dump tune is pointless. A generic 93 tune from any handheld is fine for a not even full bolton car

dyno tune* stupid droid spellcheck

+1... I myself fall into this category (bolt-ons w/ sct tune from AM). I've noticed a difference in HP from prior (w/o it) to present (w/ it). I think a tune is worth it if you have bolt-ons. IDK how much it'd be worth getting a tuner if you just had a stock mustang though.

the guy at the dyno tune shop charges me a 100 bucks an hour and that includes a tech to do my afr and what not so the price is pretty reasonable. the best i have run is a 9.3 in the 1/8th i forgot to mention i am a pi swap and that 9.3 was before the t/b plenum install
